Q: Can you work within my budget of {XYZ} dollars?

Budget is my husband’s favorite word and as such yes, I can do budgets...big, small, and everywhere in between.  While I absolutely believe in investing in quality pieces that will last a long time, I also believe that you don’t have to spend big money on every single item in your home. I can help you get a big bang for your buck. That’s actually how I got the nickname “The Décor Detective”...when my kids were younger and we were renovating our previous house I admit I would sometimes fall in love with a pricey piece aka "not in the budget"...ha! I would spend my kids' nap time online hunting down a more cost-friendly alternative. Same look, smaller dollar amount. It’s a win-win in my book.

Q: I love decorating and know what I want {or} I’ve narrowed it down to a few things but still can’t decide. Can you help?

Absolutely, I’d love to!  I can shop for you or with you if you're local! Plus I’m always keeping my eyes open for clients who’ve made their wishes known to me. I am happy to source items for you online and send you email links.

Q. My project is really small. Can you still help me?

Of course! Send me an email and let’s figure out what works best for you.

Q. Why hire someone to help decorate?

I’ve been where you are. I have personally hired designers to help me. Yes, even I {personally passionate about all things decor and design} sometimes can’t make a decision about my own home. The first time I hired a designer {Holly Mathis} was to help me choose between three light fixtures for my breakfast area. I saved money in the long run because it saved me second guessing, time, and money. I still love what we picked!

Q: Are you an interior designer or an interior decorator and is there a difference?

By definition "Interior design is the art and science of understanding people's behavior to create functional spaces within a building. Decoration is the furnishing or adorning of a space with fashionable or beautiful things. In short, interior designers may decorate, but decorators do not design."

Interior designers have formal education and are usually affiliated with professional associations such as ASID. Let me be clear…my degree is in chemistry not interior design. I am an interior decorator and am self-taught and passionate about it. If you are in need of a certified designer or architect for building design or structural work I can help you find referrals.

Q: What do you charge?

My fees depend on the services involved so check out my services page  and let's chat about your space. Send me an email...
